What to expect when doing a renovation project with us
We are here to walk you through every aspect of your renovation project.
Free Consultation
Once we have been contacted, by phone or email. One of us will get in touch with you to set up a time to meet to take a look at your renovation project. Wes and a member of the design team will meet with you and go over what your renovation project looks like. We listen to your project ideas, take notes and give ideas. This is where you tell us everything you are hoping for, don't leave anything out! If you have a budget in mind, let us know and we will see if we can work within it.
Detailed Quote
Once we have compiled all the information from the meeting. We sit down and go over all the details coming up with a price. We will contact you with a price. If you can work with the price that is given, a detailed quote is written up and sent to you. It is important to look over every detail of the quote.
Design Consultation
After the quote has been approved and signed, we start the design phase. Depending on the scope of work and the size of the project, during this stage the designers will help you finalize a layouts whether this is through floorplans or 3D drawings.
We will arrange a meeting to go over all finishes and fixtures. Our design team with meet with you to pick out flooring, paint, countertops, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting etc. Anything that is needed to be selected before the renovation begins. This stage can be overwhelming with all the decisions that need to be made, our designers are here to help. With keeping selections within your budget and offering ideas and suggestions.
Construction - Phase 1

We will have all required permits before we start

We will provide you with a detailed timeline of your entire renovation project

We will install a security lock box with a unique code to your home.

Floor protection and railings will get wrapped in immediate area to ensure no damage is done.

Construction and finishing materials are delivered

Before work begins, a walkthrough is carried out with yourself and our team to ensure the design is 100% accurate and everyone is on the same page.

Plumbing rough-in is completed as per the design.

An electrical walkthrough is done with yourself and our team to ensure your lighting and switches are put in desired locations.

Any required HVAC work and modifications will be completed.

We will set up and meet City inspectors for all required inspections. All inspector questions will be dealt with one of our experienced project managers so you don’t have to.

Delivery and installation of drywall, waterproof denshield on shower/tub walls.

Walls are taped and sanded ready for paint.

Walls get primed.

Knockdown ceiling texture is applied.

Doors are hung, windows are cased, and all trim is installed.

Nail holes are filled, joints removed and trim is sanded to a smooth finish.

Walk-through of project area is completed, ensuring plans are being followed and the work is up to our high level standard of quality.
Construction - Phase 2

Cabinets are delivered and installed next couple of days

Countertops are templated and installed a few days later

Installation of flooring, door handles, vent covers, door stops.

Installation of backsplash

Second coat of paint is applied.

Installation of plumbing fixtures.

Installation of lighting, electrical switches, receptacles, and breakers.

Installation of baseboard and casing

Final paint touch-ups.

Final city inspections are set up and walk throughs are completed with our project managers and the inspectors.

Full professional clean of your home can be arranged by Empire Home Renovations if client prefers.
